We hire interns during tax season (January-April) to work in the areas of accounting & tax. We prefer that all interns are close to completing their undergraduate degree in accounting. The internship role is a win-win situation for both the students and the firm. The students receive the direct benefit of on-the-job training and experience, and the firm is able to hire very enthusiastic candidates as interns, which could lead to a permanent match down the road.

Entry level and staff accountants are required to have an undergraduate and preferably a masters degree in accounting. A masters degree or 150 semester hours is required to sit for the CPA Exam in the state of Georgia. After their first year, staff accountants are able to specialize in accounting, auditing or tax. These positions offer the opportunity to work with a large variety of clients, both in size and industry.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform month-end closing procedures to clients records
  • Provide ongoing advice and support to clients on accounting matters
  • Prepare supporting workpapers for month end closing including bank reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, etc.
  • Prepare corporate, partnership and individual tax returns
  • Proactively interact with key client management to gather information and make recommendations for business and process improvements

The ideal candidate wll possess the following:

  • 2+ years RECENT public accounting (prefer local or regional)
  • BS degree in accounting
  • CPA exam candidate (must have requirements to sit for exam)
  • Technical accounting skills
  • Strong software skills (proficiency in Excel and Quickbooks is required)
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel on a regular basis to local clients and occasional out-of-town travel

A senior accountant must be a CPA and have 2 to 4 years of experience in public accounting. Seniors are responsible for supervising staff on audit and accounting engagements, in addition to running the engagements. The senior is also responsible for direct contact with clients and will serve as the link between the client and the firm on a daily basis. Senior accountants are able to specialize in accounting, auditing or tax.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Plan, execute, and complete external audits
  • Detailed review of audit workpapers
  • Supervise 1-3 staff at client sites and draft financial statements
  • Proactively interact with key client management to gather information and make recommendations for business and process improvements
  • Assess performance of staff for engagement reviews
  • Train and supervise staff on audit processes

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 3+ years RECENT auditing in public accounting (prefer local or regional)
  • BS degree in accounting
  • CPA license is required, CIA or CFE a plus
  • Proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS & International accounting experience a plus
  • Excellent technical accounting skills
  • Strong software skills (proficiency in excel is required)
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, coaching, and training staff
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a positive team player attitude
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

The tax senior must be a CPA and have 2 to 4 years of experience in tax accounting. The tax senior should have experience in supervising staff and preparing individual, corporate and partnership income tax returns along with tax planning and research. We also hire tax seniors with specializations in international tax or estate, trust and gift taxes.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Prepare year-end tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
  • Review tax returns prepared by staff and communicate necessary corrections
  • Perform tax planning and tax projections for clients
  • Perform tax research on various issues
  • Maintain close communications with clients and participate in scheduling client engagements
  • Correspond with the IRS and various state and local taxing agencies
  • Maintain close communications with managers and partners relating to the status of tax engagements
  • Train, mentor, and supervise staff accountants
  • Perform the broadest range of accountant tasks so that direct participation of managers and partners is kept to a minimum

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Undergraduate and/or Masters degree in Accounting
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Masters Degree in Taxation a plus
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax laws
  • Ability to apply general and specific tax knowledge for all types of entities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients and co-workers
  • Strong decision making skills, self starter, ability to work independently, ability to meet time constraints and deadlines, and willingness to lead
  • CCH or other tax software experience
  • Experience with tax research and tax projection software (CCH, RIA, BNA, etc)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • CaseWare or other audit software experience a plus
  • Experience dealing with international clients a plus

The tax manager must be a CPA and have at least 5 years of experience in tax accounting. The tax manager must have experience in staff management, tax compliance and review as well as tax planning and research. We also have the need for tax managers that specialize in international tax or estate, trust and gift taxes.
Primary responsibilities include:

  • Communicate with partners, staff, and clients regarding expectations, status of engagements, and other matters as needed
  • Provide clients with complete and accurate work in an efficient and timely manner based on agreed upon budgets and time expectations
  • Function as a buffer between partners and clients for on-going matters
  • Schedule and assign work to staff, monitor progress of work to meet time constraints and client deadlines
  • Anticipate problem areas of engagements and questions that will arise, analyze problems, and recommend solutions
  • Review corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns prepared by staff and senior accountants. Prepare tax returns when necessary.
  • Perform tax research on various issues
  • Consult with clients on tax planning and special projects
  • Train, mentor, and supervise staff and senior accountants
  • Participate in staff evaluations and personnel decisions
  • Manage work-in-process and prepare bills for clients
  • Participate in administrative activities that benefit the Firm (i.e. participation on committees, training, networking, recruiting, etc.)

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Undergraduate and/or Masters degree in Accounting
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Masters Degree in Taxation a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting/tax
  • Must have demonstrated a progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagements managed
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax laws required
  • Strong analysis skills in relation to financial statements and other financial information
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with clients and co-workers
  • Strong decision making skills, self starter, ability to work independently, ability to meet time constraints and deadlines, and willingness to lead
