I worked for State Farm Insurance Companies as an Accounting Supervisor.  I also worked for General Electric Appliances and United Parcel Service in college.

What are your career aspirations?

I moved to Atlanta from Murfreesboro, TN. I mailed a resume to the firm, without knowing anyone.  The Executive Director called me for an interview.

What kinds of people do well in this business?

Hard-working, outgoing, and self-motivated people do well in this business.

What do you really like about your job?

The best part of my job is the people that work with and the fact that I learn from them.

What do you dislike?

Keeping track of my time is not my favorite part of the job.

What is the biggest misconception about this job?

People think all accountants know everything about tax work.

Looking back on your career or job search, what do you wish you had done differently?

Attorneys make more money, and they don’t work any harder.

How can someone get a job like yours?

They can take the initiative and submit their resume.  We’re always looking for motivated people.
