What do you do?

I prepare business, individual and trust tax returns. I also perform audits, reviews and compilations. As a senior, I supervise staff on engagements. I am also actively involved in the Technology Group where we work to improve existing technology processes and procedures.

What did you do before?

I worked construction with my father while I attended college.

What are your career aspirations?

I interviewed with the firm on campus and then I visited the office. I am working to move up the ranks here at HA&W and to become a partner.

What kinds of people do well in this business?

People who do well in accounting are people who work well with others and who are willing to learn.

What do you really like about your job?

I enjoy working with my coworkers. I also like the partners’ open-door policy. It’s very helpful that the partners are so accessible.

What do you dislike?

Working long busy season hours is my least favorite part of the job.
