Kerry is known for implementing innovative solutions that reduce the tax liabilities of his clients. On a daily basis, he advises manufacturing, transportation, logistics, distribution and technology companies that are either headquartered in the U.S. or are the U.S. subsidiary of a global business.
He specializes in state and local tax issues (SALT), including income and franchise tax, property tax, and sales tax. He also consults on Nexus, which is a complex issue faced by many companies today.
He also enables clients to monetize tax credits and take advantage of tax incentives. Recently, Kerry worked with a client to take advantage of the Georgia Jobs Tax Credit, adding cash back into the working capital of the business.
Kerry leads HA&W's Standards Codification Topic 740 (formally FAS 109 and FIN 48) efforts by assisting clients firmwide apply the provisions. Additionally, he is in charge of training the staff on the provisions.
Kerry received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky and his Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University. His professional involvement includes:
