Georgia Tax
Credit Questionnaire
Below is a list of questions that will help us determine if your company
potentially qualifies for tax credits offered by the State of Georgia. Please
take a few minutes to answer the questions. Let us know if your company
currently engages in, or has engaged in, any of these activities over the
past 3 years. In many cases, the credits offer significant tax relief to
Georgia companies.
1.
Does your company engage in any of the following types of business?
2.
If you are engaged in one of the above industries, please provide us with
the number of full-time employees on your payroll at the end of each month
over the last 4 years.
If you have
increased the number of jobs, you may qualify for the Job Tax Credit.

corporate headquarters in Georgia creating at least 50 jobs and investing
more than $1 million in the establishment or relocation of the headquarters?

is through Savannah. If YES, approximately how much did you import/export
this year compared to last year?
If you have

investment or jobs credit.

facility or support facility in Georgia for the past 3 years? If YES, has

acquired to construct or expand a manufacturing or telecommunications facility?
Expenses
that qualify include, but are not limited to, amounts expended on land
acquisition, improvements, buildings, building improvements, and machinery
and equipment to be used in the manufacturing or telecommunications facility.
If you answered YES to both questions above, you may qualify for the Investment
Tax Credit.
7.
Has your company incurred training costs to enhance the functional skills
of employees who would otherwise be unable to function effectively on the
job due to skill deficiencies, or would be displaced because the skill deficiencies
would inhibit their utilization of new technology, new equipment or new
operating systems?
If YES, you
may qualify for the Employee Retraining Tax Credit. Note if you will be
doing this in the future, then we can still apply and get the credit eligible
for the upcoming year.
8.
Has your company incurred expenses to enhance the reading, writing, or mathematical
skills for employees who would otherwise be unable to function effectively
on the job due to deficiencies in those areas, or would be displaced because
such skill deficiencies would inhibit their training for new technology?
If YES, you
may qualify for the Basic Skills Education Tax Credit.

If you have
any questions regarding the above credits or would like to obtain additional
information, please feel free to contact us.
Also, if you are planning on engaging in any of the above activities, please
let us know. Additional planning will be needed to ensure your company’s
projects are structured properly to qualify for the Georgia tax credits.
In addition, some of the credits need to be applied for and the sooner we
are aware of the situation then we can get the approval that is needed.
