Alan Vaughn
is a partner and co-chair with the Tax Group. He has extensive
experience managing and conducting audits of companies in a variety of industries.
He works with clients on audits for retirement plans, real estate and construction
companies, retailers, hospitality organizations and financial companies.
Alan is familiar with government regulations for individuals, partnerships
and corporations and his client base includes retail, multi-family and office
developers, private REITs, overseas investors, institutional investors,
contractors and homebuilders.
Alan heads up HA&W Cost Recovery Partners, LLC, the
firm’s cost segregation practice. He has also been involved in the
structure, formation, and reporting of numerous reverse, construction, and
to-be-built tax-free exchanges. He has assisted on numerous occasions in
the structure of real estate transactions including financing, cash flow
analysis, and equity placement.
He earned his BBA degree from Auburn University. Alan’s
industry and civic involvement includes serving on the Georgia Society Professional
Ethics Committee since 1991 and is a past chairman. He is also on the Advisory
Board of Auburn University School of Accounting and is a board member of
the Atlanta Tax Forum.
In addition he has also served on the Georgia Society’s
Cooperation with Financial Institutions Committee and is active in the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified
Public Accountants, the Real Estate Investment Association, the Atlanta
Real Estate Roundtable and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
