Directors John is the Director
of HA&W’s state and local tax (SALT) services practice. John provides
tax consulting services to a variety of clients on SALT matters with regard to
Income/Franchise tax as well as Sales and Use Tax. In addition, John has extensive
experience in the area of tax credits and incentives. With
his broad experience leading various SALT engagements, John has served clients
throughout the United States working with companies in various industries, including
the manufacturing, technology, distribution, retail, tourism and financial services
sectors. Prior to joining HA&W, John served as the Income Tax Director for
the Georgia Department of Revenue. He was also a SALT consultant with two International
accounting and consulting firms. Along with John’s extensive SALT experience,
he also has 9 years of operations management and industrial engineering experience
in the manufacturing and distribution industries. John
received his Bachelor of Science in Physics from North Georgia College and State
University, and has completed post-baccalaureate courses in business administration
at Georgia State University. A featured speaker at many tax and industry seminars,
John also serves as an instructor on SALT-related topics at internal and external
training events.
