services and consulting on compensation issues, initial

Experienced
at all levels of practice operations, Maureen is a Practice
Management Consultant with HA&W's Advisory and Business
Services Group. Some of her areas of specialization are
billing and collections, program compliance, coding and
personnel issues.
With
over 15 years of medical practice management experience,
she assists healthcare practices and ancillary medical facilities
in improving their financial and operational management
procedures. She provides services ranging from comprehensive
reviews of practice finances and internal operations to
practice management and program compliance including coding
and medical record audits.
Maureen
is a nurse, by education, having received her nursing diploma
from Mary Fletcher Hospital School of Nursing, an affiliate
of the University of Vermont located in Burlington, Vermont.
In addition to her nursing background, Maureen is a Certified
Professional Coder (CPC), a designation from the American
Academy of Professional Coders. For over 15 years, she has
been involved with medical practice management and consulting,
working with adult and pediatric primary care practices,
surgical specialties, hospital physician practice networks
and ambulatory care facilities. She has also participated
in accreditation surveys of the Joint Commission of the
Hospital Accreditation Association (JCAHO) and the Accreditation
Association for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC).
She
is a member of the Medical Group Managers' Association,
Georgia and Atlanta Chapters and the American Academy of
Professional Coders, and has served on physician advisory
panels for several insurance companies in Atlanta. She was
an active member of the Medical Records Subcommittee with
Dekalb Medical Center's Primary Care Division for several
years and has conducted numerous seminars on various aspects
of practice management.
