Alan
Vaughn has over 25 years experience and is the firm’s
Chief Operating Officer as well as a co-chair of the tax
practice with Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLP. He has extensive
experience in corporate, partnership and multi-state tax
matters. Alan serves as the chair of the firm tax committee
which oversees the tax education and policies of the firm.
Alan heads up HA&W Cost Recovery Partners, LLC, the
firm’s cost segregation practice. He has also been
involved in the structure, formation, and reporting of numerous
reverse, construction, and to-be-built tax-free exchanges.
He has assisted on numerous occasions in the structure of
real estate transactions including financing, cash flow
analysis, and equity placement. He has also worked with
clients to minimize state taxes and advised clients on efficient
tax structures in connection with the sale of business units.
He earned his
BBA degree from Auburn University. Alan’s industry
and civic involvement includes serving on the Georgia Society
Professional Ethics Committee from 1991 to 2008, including
two years as chairman. He also serves on the Advisory board
to the Auburn University School of Accounting, is a board
member of the Southeast chapter of the Real Estate Investment
Advisory Council, and is a trustee of the Atlanta Tax Forum.
He has also served
on the Georgia Society’s Cooperation with Financial
Institutions Committee and is active in the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of
Certified Public Accountants, the Atlanta Real Estate Roundtable
and the International Council of Shopping Centers. |
